Liverpool take on fierce rivals Manchester United in Saturday’s league outing at Old Trafford. Jurgen Klopp’s side are presently just two points behind second-placed United and they have the opportunity to leapfrog them with a first victory in five attempts at the Theatre of Dreams.
Germany international has been the Reds’ first-choice shot-stopper since the turn of the year and Klopp is likely to start his compatriot between the sticks against United.
At the back, Klopp is likely to favour a familiar four-man backline. As such, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson should start in the right and left-back positions respectively with club-record signing Virgil van Dijk partnering Dejan Lovren at the heart of the defence.
Onto the midfield, skipper Jordan Henderson is likely to take up a holding role in a three-man partnership. Judging by recent form, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emre Can should start ahead of the Reds captain.
In the attack, Mohamed Salah is a sure starter on the right wing after netting his 24th goal of the Premier League season last weekend. The Egyptian is now tied with Harry in the pursuit of the Golden Boot.
Besides him, Sadio Mane should take up his usual position on the left side of the attack with Roberto Firmino playing through the middle. The Brazil international contributed an assist in last weekend’s triumph over Newcastle United.
