Tottenham Hotspur entertain Juventus in Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 game at the Wembley Stadium. Spurs came from two goals behind to secure a credible 2-2 draw during the first leg and they now have the advantage of their temporary homeground to help progress them progress into the quarter-finals of the competition. Maurizio Pochettino’s side are unbeaten in their previous 15 games at the Wembley and this includes a seven-match winning streak which is presently continuing.
Players to watch for:
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur: The England international is already enjoying his best scoring season in the club’s shirt after surpassing the 35-goal feat acquired during the previous campaign. Kane has at times struggled to make an impact against some of the bigger clubs and he showed no such signs against the Bianconeri after leading the club’s comeback trail in Turin. The 24-year-old came up with a cool-finish past Buffon during the first leg and he should now relish the home advantage with him averaging more than two shots on target per match this season (ESPN).
Gonzalo Higuain – Juventus: Like Kane, Higuain has been the main goalgetter for the Bianconeri and he netted both of their goals during the 2-2 draw in the first leg. Nevertheless, the Argentine was still the subject of criticism after he failed to convert a penalty at 2-0 up which should have summed up the game. Higuain has recently received an uplift after earning a recall to the national side and his link-up play with compatriot Paulo Dybala could prove influential to scoring past a disciplined Spurs backline.
