Since the start of the transfer window, Chelsea were extremely doubtful of keeping goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge and they have eventually decided to part ways with the services after striking a record deal for Arrizabalaga.
Nevertheless, Courtois’ departure to Real Madrid has helped him gain in terms of another summer signing with World Cup finalist Mateo Kovacic expected to join them on a temporary basis as part of the agreement taking the Belgium to the Bernabeu.
Chelsea had a rather frustrating start to the summer transfer window with most of their time spent on luring manager Maurizio Sarri from Napoli. Despite this, they appear to have found their wavelength heading into the transfer deadline day with as many as four signings on board.
Jorginho has already played a significant role under Sarri during pre-season and the same can be expected of Arrizabalaga and Kovacic, who have been highly-regarded during their time in the Spanish La Liga.
Aside from the trio, Chelsea have also recruited the services of goalkeeper Rob Green on a free transfer but the 38-year-old may not gain any gametime through the forthcoming season.
The former England international will most likely feature as the third-choice goalkeeper behind Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero, though he may face competition from Macrin Bulka.
