England international Danny Welbeck could reportedly be heading through the Arsenal exit door with manager Unai Emery deeming him surplus to requirements.
The 27-year-old has struggled to maintain a regular role with the Gunners over the past four seasons and much of this has resulted from his unreliable fitness.
According to Evening Standard, Welbeck could make way from the Gunners before Thursday’s transfer deadline with the Englishman keen to remain in the Premier League.
So far, there have not been any concrete offers for the former Manchester United man but reports suggest that Everton, Southampton and West Ham may vie for his signature.
Welbeck has largely been a bit-part player during his time at the Emirates but he managed to make 43 appearances for the Gunners last term amid different circumstances.
The Englishman has only recently returned to the north London outfit after taking an extended break for his participation with England at the summer World Cup.
During his absence, the likes of Alex Iwobi and Reiss Nelson have taken their opportunity to impress under Unai Emery with the former being rewarded with a new long-term deal.
Based on this, Welbeck may find himself behind the above-mentioned duo in the pecking order, should he fail to attract any Premier League interest before the 5 pm deadline on Thursday.
