France international Paul Pogba is reportedly keen on parting ways with Manchester United in the near future with his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho having reached a new low.
According to The Mail, the Frenchman has told his intention to leave the Red Devils to Mourinho as he tries to push through a move to Barcelona, who have been tracking him since the summer.
Pogba started the season on the positive note with a man of the match showing for United against Leicester City but his performances have since been on the downside, barring the European outing at Young Boys.
As such, he has found himself criticised by Mourinho after almost every negative result and Saturday’s league draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers was one such example where the Portuguese slammed him in the dressing room for his performance.
Amidst this, the 25-year-old is understood to have revealed his intention to quit United in the near future and this is understood to have played the role in Mourinho’s decision to drop the midfielder from the vice-captaincy position.
Pogba was completely excluded from the matchday squad for the Tuesday’s League Cup third round tie against Derby County but that did not change the club’s fortunes as they were ousted shockingly on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time at Old Trafford.
The World Cup winner should return to the mix for the away Premier League meeting at West Ham United this weekend and it will be interesting to see whether he can provide a reaction amidst the strong speculation concerning his United future.
