Juventus player ratings vs Manchester United

Juventus secured their third straight win in their Champions League group stage as they secured a 1-0 triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford. Paulo Dybala netted the sole goal of the game in the 17th minute and thereafter, the Bianconeri created multiple chances not none of those materialised with the United backline staying firm.

Player Ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny – The Poland international made his return to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving Arsenal. Barring one attempt from Paul Pogba, he was largely a spectator in Juve’s near-total ascendancy – 6.5/10

Jo√£o Cancelo – The Portuguese tested De Gea with one low shot early on in the game and thereafter, he was constant presence on the right side of the Juventus attack owing to his pace – 7/10

Giorgio Chiellini – Chiellini may be approaching the final stages of his career but he has not dropped his performance levels. He was on the right end of most interceptions made by the Bianconeri – 7/10

Leonardo Bonucci РUnlike Chiellini, Bonucci did not have much to do in terms of defending barring one crucial tackle on Anthony Martial. He was however impressive with his long-range passing while searching for Cristiano Ronaldo Р7/10

Alex Sandro – Did not have much of an influence in the opposition box but he was nevertheless a threat on the left hand side where he provided the support for Ronaldo when required – 6/10

Miralem Pjanic – The Bosnian did not land the best of free kicks during the game but he was impressive with one-touch football which restricted the impact from Nemanja Matic in the opposite ranks – 7/10

Rodrigo Bentancur – Another tidy performance from the Uruguayan who maintained a tireless workrate throughout. He had a chance to bag Juventus’ second from a corner – 7/10

Blaise Matuidi – The Frenchman had one robust challenge on compatriot Pogba during the game and thereafter, was a constant attacking presence while testing David de Gea with a fierce shot – 7/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Ronaldo rather drifted away from the game in the second half. He still made a defining impact by setting up Dybala’s winner with a cross from the right wing after getting the better of Martial – 7/10

Paulo Dybala – Dybala has been the go-to man for Juventus in Europe and his strike against United was his fourth from just two Champions League matches. Looked sharp in the false 9 role and could have headed in another goal – 8/10

Juan Cuadrado – The Colombian did not present a box threat but he was still impressive with his link-up play and assisted Dybala’s goal after hassling defender Chris Smalling – 7/10
