Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has reportedly undergone a series of medical tests with Crystal Palace ahead of his proposed loan move for the second half of the season.
The Englishman joined the Reds from Chelsea on a Bosman last year after starring for the young Three Lions at the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea where they secured the trophy.
However, he has since struggled to cement a regular starting role under Jurgen Klopp and the current season has been dreadful for his progress with not a single minute of gametime.
As a result, the 21-year-old has been widely fancied to pursue a temporary move when the transfer window reopens and it appears that he has already found his destination.
According to The Mail, the youngster is seemingly on the cusp of joining the Eagles on a short-term loan after undergoing a successful medical with the south London-based outfit.
Palace have endured a tough season in terms of scoring and this has resulted from the limited threat upfront with Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham on the sidelines while Jordan Ayew and Alexander Sorloth have failed to impress.
Owing to this, manager Roy Hodgson has regularly gone with a two-striker partnership with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend occupying the makeshift roles and hopefully, the arrival of Solanke may ease their scoring concerns.
Palace are currently occupying the 14th position in the standings with 19 points on the board and this sees them with a four-point advantage over the drop zone. They face a tricky challenge at Wolves in their next league meeting after New Year’s Day.
