Manchester United have reportedly made the surprise decision to part ways with Alexis Sanchez in the near future with manager Jose Mourinho having grown frustrated with the Chilean’s ineffectiveness on the playing field.
Sanchez has struggled to replicate his Arsenal form since making the switch to Old Trafford in the winter of 2018 and during this period, he has amassed just three goals in the space of 19 Premier League games.
As such, there has been a sense of frustration among the supporters with the Chilean’s starting spot often costing the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in terms of gametime but it now appears that the same has got to the head coach.
In the weekend just past, Mourinho had supposedly criticised Sanchez for his poor showing on the training pitch before dropping him altogether for the West Ham United game for which he made the trip and it now appears that the Chilean’s future is on the line.
According to The Star, United boss Mourinho has apparently made his mind up to offload Sanchez and the Chilean could make way from Old Trafford at the earliest possibility depending on the interest.
During the previous campaign, Sanchez was certainly a player on demand with a number of teams jostling for his signature but the same outcome appears unlikely this time around unless he takes a hefty paycut on his current wages.
As things stand, the Chilean commands a Premier League-record salary of £500,000-a-week which has regularly been discussed about and such a figure should sway away most elite clubs from across the world from even considering an approach.
