Liverpool entertain Stoke City in this weekend’s Premier League game at Anfield. The Reds come into the match on the back of a convincing 5-2 win over AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi final and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to maintain the momentum with a home victory over the Potters. The Reds’ most-recent league outing ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion despite holding a 2-0 advantage until the 78th minute of the game.
Loris Karius has been undisputed choice between the sticks since the turn of the year and Klopp may stick with the German in goal despite the vast changes expected elsewhere. In defence, the recently returned Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno are strong candidates to take up the right and left-back positions whilst Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez should slot in the central defensive roles for the league clash.
Onto the midfield, skipper Jordan Henderson should reclaim his spot in the centre of the park being the captain and we are fancying Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner to start ahead of him with Emre Can still on the sidelines with a back problem.
Further forward, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane may start off in the right and left wing positions respectively, though they could be substituted early with a view to the Champions League second leg. Upfront, Danny Ings may earn a rare start with Roberto Firmino likely to feature from the bench at best.
