Arsenal supporters were full of praise for Alexandre Lacazette after he netted the defining goal in the 3-2 Premier League triumph over Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were made to sweat for the victory with the hosts coming back on two occasions but ultimately, the Frenchman was at the right place to scoring a fantastic winner for Unai Emery’s side.
Lacazette had impressed from the bench from the first three games of the Premier League campaign and he was particularly impressive versus West Ham United where he indirectly contributed towards the second goal in a 3-1 victory.
Owing to his, manager Unai Emery offered him a much-anticipated start versus Neil Warnock’s side and Lacazette certainly took the opportunity with both hands by providing a goal and an assist.
The Frenchman begun his contribution with a wonderful pass for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who curled the second goal past goalkeeper Neil Etheridge but eventually, it was his powerful and no-nonsense strike which earned the Gunners three points.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions following the game;
Lacazette’s goal was incredible. That first touch😨

I genuinely can’t understand how sections of our own fanbase don’t rate Lacazette. He brings so much more to the squad than just his goals. His interplay, ability to occupy two centre halves as well as creating space for others is so underrated. Phenomenal performance.

Few thoughts on Cardiff
Leno must start
Torreira must start
Aubameyang & Lacazette must always start

Lacazette has been so good this season when he's played, I'm surprised it took 4 games for him to get a start but you have to understand Emery's concerns. At least Emery now knows that starting Auba & Laca together is now the way forward. Their bond on and off the pitch is unreal

Alexandre Lacazette – by far our best player today. Thumping finish.

With the triumph, Arsenal have now registered back-to-back wins in the Premier League this term and this sees them with six points after the first four matches of the season.
Following the international break, the north Londoners have a relatively winnable fixture list to look after and a good run could witness them break into the top four by the time they entertain Liverpool in November.
Unai Emery’s side are scheduled to face Newcastle United on the road after a week on Saturday and the game promises a tactical battle with Magpies boss Rafael Benitez likely to adopt an ultra-defensive formation.
