Manchester United supporters were pleased with the impact of Alexis Sanchez during his maiden game for the Red Devils. The Chile international was handed his debut during the fourth round of the FA Cup versus Yeovil Town and he did not disappoint by contributing an assist for Ander Herrera’s goal.
Yeovil offered quite a challenge during the opening exchanges of the match but as the tie went on, United managed to gain more possession. Marcus Rashford pounced on a defensive error to open the scoring prior to the break and following the interval, goals from Ander Herrera, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard sealed a 4-0 triumph.
Sanchez did not have the best of games in terms of his overall passing but he managed to impress with his one-two with Juan Mata. Aside from his assist, Sanchez also played an indirect role to Rashford’s opener and the United faithful were pleasantly pleased with his work-rate.
Would much rather watch a player like Sánchez who actually attempts the difficult passes rather than someone who shies away from them. Might lose the ball and possession occasionally, but it will eventually come off. Has played well so far.

Sanchez showed one thing, the ability and willingness to play the killer ball. Lukaku will easily surpass 30 for the season now with that kind of service. Can’t wait to see him in the PL now. 🔥

I think Keown is going ott with some of his comments re Sanchez. Said the Chilean was ‘ignoring’ Rashford, when it was Sanchez who looked for Rashford for the goal. Sanchez the best and most creative player in the first 45 mins.

Huish Park did not present with the best of surfaces and this hampered Sanchez from cutting in more regularly from the left side with success. Nevertheless, the Chilean’s approach would be a refreshing site for the fans who have witnessed some lacklustre attacking performances on the road.
One concern, however, could lie on where Anthony Martial could feature but judging by Sanchez’s previous success on the right-wing, Jose Mourinho may quite possibly swap him between the flanks to accomodate the Frenchman.
