Manchester United’s summer signing Diogo Dalot has provided a timely boost after confirming his return to full fitness after a meniscus injury picked up on international duty with the Portugal Under-21 side.
The 19-year-old was the club’s second recruit of the summer transfer window but his debut was delayed until mid-September as he had to recover from an operation on a knee injury suffered during his time at Porto.
He thereafter featured in the matches against Young Boys and Derby County in the Champions League and League Cup respectively where he was particularly impressive with his composure and it appeared that he could sustain a longer run in the starting lineup.
However, his career with United has since reached a standstill with the meniscus problem picked up at the start of October, but Dalot has now confirmed that he is raring to go for the club ahead of the festive schedule.

Considering the timescale of Dalot’s setback, Mourinho may remain patient with the youngster and he may for starters feature on the bench for the upcoming league encounter against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Nonetheless, there will be a potential change in the full-back positions for the Saturday encounter with Luke Shaw currently serving a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the domestic season during the derby defeat to Manchester City.
In his absence, Ashley Young appears the likelier option to slot into the left side of the defence while Antonio Valencia should get the nod over Dalot at right-back, where he has not featured for the club since the goalless Champions League draw versus Valencia on October 2.
